First, our son Lucas turned us on to the Refreshments’ album, “Fizzy, Fuzzy, Big & Buzzy” which very well may be one of the best rock and roll albums ever.
Awhile later, and I can’t remember how it happened, we found out that most, if not all, the band members were now performing as Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers. By the time we found this out, they already had 5 albums out under that name. We scarfed them all up. While nothing will ever match F,F,B & B, The Peacemakers are still making excellent rock and roll records. Next thing we found out was that the band does a yearly show in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, about 60 miles south of the Arizona border. The event is called Circus Mexicus and sounded like a hoot. When we realized that Puerto Peñasco is a seaport town on the Sea of Cortez, it seemed like a no-brainer to sail Siempre Sabado up to party with the guys.
Yesterday we got the e-mail informing us that the tickets had gone on sale and we immediately ordered 2 Oro wristbands. So, guess where we’re headed (slowly) when we leave Mazatlán. C’mon up and join us. If nothing else, order a copy of F,F,B&B and sing along with us.
“Here comes another song about Mexico….”
